Yes!!  A chestnut won it!  I have no idea what the horse's name is, but damn it!  A chestnut won!!

Here it is, the first weekend in May.  This would normally be our first major Arabian horse show of the year.  But within the past nine months, we sold my horse, Ace, and we lost our pride and joy, Apollo, to colic.  It seems strange not to be at the State Fairgrounds, preparing and worrying and hoping.  We've done it for so many years.  I know it will get easier.  Time does help.  But I do miss that huge chestnut gelding, Apollo.  He taught me so much, and we won like there was no tomorrow.  Vaya con Dios, Apollo. You will be loved, always.

Getting sick over the weekend is a horrible way to spend one's time away from work.

I have decided, that for the next four weeks, I 'm going on a news fast. No Fox News, (especially) no CNN, no nothing.  Whatever happens, I'm sure I'll get a memo if it's terribly important.  Otherwise, I don't want to know.
